Rhodes provides some superb holiday resorts with many fabulous beaches, ideal for sunbathing and water-sports. Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese, close to the coast of Turkey and is known as the ‘Rose of the Aegean’.

Rhodes town is an incredible place to visit. Inside the old city walls is a maze of shops, bars and restaurants. The completely restored ‘Street of Knights’ is lined with the buildings that the Templar Knights prayed and honed their military skills. The Palace of the Grand Master must be seen, a most impressive building. Mandraki is the port area.

To the west of the city lies the remains of the Acropolis of Rhodes and the archaeological and Byzantine museums. There is much to do and see in Rhodes town.

Lindos is a fabulous village, a short boat or bus trip from Rhodes town. There are many historic houses known as the Captains houses, some of which have been converted for tourist accommodation. The only mode of transport in Lindos is by donkey, mopeds or bicycles!

There are a few lovely beaches, one of which lies under the ancient Acropolis of Lindos.

There are several other resorts on Rhodes including, Faliraki, infamous for it’s nightlife, Afandou with it’s long beach and Kremasti and Paradise from which you can visit the ‘valley of the Butterflies’
